Psalms 34:7 -8 “The angel of the Lord encamps round about them that fear him, and delivers them. O taste and see that the Lord is good: blessed is the man that trusts in him.” 

In order to deem someone as GOOD, his or her good deeds must impact and benefit people's lives. That is why you will see people list the good deeds of a person in order to arrive at the conclusion that this person is good. Each of us can testify to the goodness of God in our lives. It’s only when the goodness of God has an impact on our lives that we can actually testify and sing of the goodness of God. Even the most unfortunate man in the world can testify to the goodness of God in his life.

Why must we declare or testify that the Lord is GOOD?

  1. The Lord is GOOD because that is His nature. It is who He IS (Matt 19:16 -17).  He desires to do us good.  All that God does is GOOD and perfect (Gen. 1 :31)

  2. God is GOOD because He delivers us (Jer. 31 :11 -12)

  3. God is GOOD because He protects us (Ps 27 : 11- 13)

  4. God is GOOD because He saves us and his mercy leads us to repentance (Rom. 2 :2 -4)

In the face of God’s goodness, what must the attitude or response of Christians be?

  1. We must be grateful.

  2. We must recall and remember all the good works of the Lord (Ps 145 :1 -7)
